porn and sex addiction

porn and sex addiction

There have been many debates over the years, people asking "is porn addiction real?"  and "is sex addiction real?"  I honestly think they are, too, but that doesn't stop people from talking about it.

However, it seems that the number of men who admit to being addicted to porn and sex is growing, according to a charity.

The charity said that only a few years ago it dealt with only "one or two" cases a year of men obsessed with porn and sex.  This is a really low figure, and the figure is small enough to easily give the right attention to these cases.

As you can imagine, that number has changed dramatically since then.  Now I think the number is about 50 every year.

The executive director of the charity said that “in the last two years they have seen a real increase in the number of people coming.  It was very rare for someone to come to us with these problems before. "

he went on to say that “in extreme cases it has reached the point where it affects their daily lives and causes them great problems.  It stops them from doing everyday things and can have a big impact on them and the way they live.  "

It seems that it is not the only charity that sees an influx of people who admit to sex addictions and many places are opening up to try to help people.  Why do we see this growth?

  Accessible porn

One of the main reasons people suggest this change is the accessibility of pornography.  You can easily get access to free porn if you have an internet connection, which is a big problem.

Out of curiosity, I looked up some porn stats.  One of the statistics suggested that 1 out of 5 searches on mobile devices was for pornography and that 9 out of 10 internet users only access porn which is free.

These numbers are higher than I thought they would be ...

You can always watch a few videos or even sex in three hot lesbians, if you really like it.  So with so many videos to watch, it's not at all surprising that people become addicted.

The problem with pornography is that it's not real.  What you see is false, and most often, when a woman starts screaming in ecstasy, that doesn't stop people from watching, does it?  Here's the problem.  People watch it and feel disappointed when their sex life is not as amazing as it is displayed on the screen, so they look more and more to find out why.

   What is sexual addiction?

many people use porn as a way to relax and stress.  "People can use pornography as a way to cope with the stresses of everyday life when they feel overwhelmed by pressure or boredom."

However, the definition of sexual addiction is really broad.  "Uncontrolled sexual behavior can be described as sexual addiction - behaviors range from visiting prostitutes, watching pornography on the Internet (which is so easily accessible), engaging in risky behavior.

So is the number of porn addicts really increasing or is it our definition of what a porn addict becomes wider to incorporate more people?

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if more people became addicted to porn.  At any time we can read about the sex life of others or even see people playing the coolest sex in their lives.
