When I started working for Barby Escorts I had very little knowledge about the escort / prostitution industry. I had never used sex workers for many reasons; none of them work morally or antisex. But I'll get to that later. I had barely heard the term escort and had no idea if there were any differences.
After meeting my new colleagues, who all seemed very nice, I found out how the online escort system works. Escorts would advertise on our site, then clients would call them and arrange to meet at a mutually convenient time and location.
Now, before I go any further, it would be fair to say that my knowledge of prostitution came from my nights in the city of Bucharest when I was young. Here, I saw a lot of streets and I could never get over how dangerous everything seemed to be, for everyone involved.
I remember that one evening, after 12 hours of drinking, one of my friends decided to take a girl on her offer. While my friend was having oral sex behind a billboard, another partner and I were sitting there waiting a few feet away (my friend needed to go to the bathroom, as far back as I can remember).
It occurred to me that this was not very safe for the girls who did it. My partner is a pretty girl, but if she weren't, who would be there to protect the girl?
What was just as worrying was the attitude of my friends as we took our baby. He pointed out that you have to prove that you can handle these girls, maybe even a little aggressive, as if you weren't, they would be thrown into your pockets, robbing you blindly. There was no code of conduct; it was a dog eating a dog.
Now it is fair to say that I had no idea if this was true. They could be very sick, but the important thing is that it was what people who see prostitutes on the street think.
Now, after this introduction, it's probably no surprise that I've never seen street girls professionally. An insecure environment for both parties, the constants are afraid that you will either be beaten or robbed. How can a client or a prostitute be fun?
Back to Barby Escorts. I was amazed by the effort made to make the environment safe for the escorts on the site. "Our system warns escorts about dangerous clients, giving them the chance to avoid them. We also took proactive measures to combat trafficking and helped with a number of court cases.
Now there is no way to prove a negative. How can you check how many attacks have been prevented by this system? It just can't happen / However, it is obvious that the attacks have been stopped and although you can never do anything completely safe, we are really improving the working conditions for these men and women.
Now I have always been a great believer that prostitution should be legal. However, if you have an industry that is not safe, how the hell could it become legal and regulated?
Now I know that selling sex is not illegal. But it is safe to say that prostitution lives in a legal gray area. What I am talking about is full legality, where everyone is free to sell / buy what they want, and all income is taxable.
Woman covering her face with her hands and crying Technology helps all forms of our lives to jump ahead. There is no reason why this should not happen. People have a right to be safe, and if they work in a traditionally dangerous industry, it should be imperative.
I have a personal opinion about "moral people" who would not want this type of application to be available on your I-Phone or Android. I feel that some of them don't care if their clients or prostitutes are hurt, as if it turns out to be dangerous, then fewer people might want to do it. The victims are "collateral damage."
As I said, this is a personal opinion. I am just a big believer in everyone's human right to live a secure life, and legalizing prostitution will improve the chances of this happening. This will only happen when the stigma of prostitution as an unsafe industry is stopped. We can take huge steps in this direction using all the technology we have at our disposal to create a "new" industry.
Prostitution 3.0 is good for me. Obviously, the way it's done should be sorted, but the theory is fine.
Let's see how it evolves in the coming years. I suspect that the prostitution industry will be totally different from what it is today, even in five years
